Shared Agenda is currently working on a potential sports pitch and pavilion redevelopment scheme on behalf of not-for-profit organisation, King George V (KGV) Playing Fields, in Cottingham.
The team are providing their Development Management expertise free of charge to help KGV develop a strategy and masterplan to further upgrade its facilities more in line with Sport England / Football Foundation’s methodology and framework.
The work involved is guiding KGV through this process in terms of design options, costing and affordability, early engagement with potential funders, planning, and highways to not only improve the existing space, but make it more attractive to future potential funders.
If successful, this work will provide a welcomed boost to local football club East Riding Rangers too, who are looking to progress through the leagues and need additional state-of-the-art facilities to match its ambitious team

“This latest piece of work is a continuation of Sewell Construction’s initial work to Cottingham Playing Fields back in 2017. They donated thousands of pounds in time, labour, and materials to allow brand new 3G Pitches to be laid. KGV also secured a grant from East Riding of Yorkshire Council to make this project possible.”

“East Riding Rangers FC now has 24 teams of all ages, including 350 players, and are on a massive growth trajectory, starting to think about entering higher leagues which require a specific standard of facilities. “Engagement is key throughout, and I’ve been working closely with multiple stakeholders to develop a scope of short- and long-term works, as well as addressing fundability and options appraisals to ensure the best overall outcome.
“This is the first time I’ve worked on a master plan of this scale, and it has been really great to build upon the existing relationship with KGV to develop a tangible asset that’s fit for them way into the future.”
KGV’s core vision is to not only increase access to football or support the long-term growth and sustainability of its football club, but also provide the local community with more modern, attainable leisure facilities.
The multi-functional building also offers classes for sports like Karate and Zumba, as well as being hired out by local charities such as Fit Mum’s. The space is also bookable for children’s parties.
