People. Places. Planet. Performance.

We are who we are because of our guiding principles. We use four compass points: people, places, planet and performance – as performance metrics for our business and as a decision making tool to ensure we’re doing our best for our team, our customers and our planet.

Our four pillars came directly from our people and were recognised as the key attributes of a successful business. We refer to these as our compass and it means we focus on each area equally, keeping our business objectives in balance, for maximum positive impact.

A sustainable business
As an organisation involved in the construction industry, we understand the impact our work can have on the bulidings of the future. as part of our wider group, we have our own in-house CiBSE-approved low carbon consultants and partnerships with behavioural change scientists to help drive our industry towwards net zero.
Doing good
Our social network
Recently, we’ve had a real focus on creating opportunities in the community, both through helping young people get a foot on the career ladder, and by doing our bit for the planet.
The talent of tomorrow
As well as frequently providing work experience placements and internships for young people to get to know our industry, we also regularly welcome graduates into the business, giving them an opportunity to start a career in consultancy. These graduates often go on to shine, progressing up the ranks to become respected and valuable members of the team. It’s our way to help talented individuals grow, whilst benefitting from their energy and enthusiasm.
A positive force on the planet
In 2023 our team gave more than 100 volunteer hours to the Plant A Tree Today Foundation, supporting local biodiversity. We’re not afraid to get our hands dirty, planting trees and braving the mud to make our local communities a greener place.
A shining example
The health centres we manage in Hull have recently been through a programme of replacing all traditional light bulbs with LEDs, saving time and money and, most importantly, dramatically reducing the estate’ carbon emissions.
Our commitments

Sustainability matters

We need to look after our planet, for this generation and the next. We build sustainability into our projects any way we can, and we’re committed to working with our public sector partners to reduce the environmental impact of their facilities. We’re committed to achieving net zero emissions by 2040, and we have a carbon reduction plan to do this, which includes:

  • Reducing energy usage
  • Using renewable energy sources where possible
  • Maximising the use of local suppliers
  • Monitoring business mileage and commuter travel
