TAKING CARE OF BUSINESS DURING SCHOOL TRANSFORMATION

A York secondary school and sixth form has undergone reconfiguration work in various areas of the school to better meet their requirements.

Fulford School’s Information and Communications Technology (ICT) suite has had a complete redesign and refit, while the café space has been transformed into three changing facilities and the pupil support unit offices and meeting rooms have been redesigned and reconfigured.

The school appointed Shared Agenda for project management support on the project, including contract administration and in an employer agent role to act on their behalf while Sewell Construction completed the two-phased project. The team also carried out monthly valuations of the work and administered payment notices.

Shared Agenda ensured the contracts were administered properly and that the contractor delivered the works in line with the contract, which was a positive and smooth process.

Jenny Scholes, Business Manager at Fulford School said: “I can’t believe that through a pandemic the work was completed in a timely manner and so smoothly

“Everybody I’ve worked with has always been polite, approachable and most of all great to work with.

“The impact that these projects will have on teaching and learning and the overall pupil welfare in school is massive.”

Issy Whitelock, Assistant Development Manager at Shared Agenda, said: “This is one of the services we provide in our project management division and we act on behalf of the client, rather than the contractor, adding to our growing portfolio.

“We worked to a tight timescale with quality always front of mind and it was a fantastic team effort despite the challenges of Covid-19.

“They have been a really great team to work with and we hope we will work together again in the future.”
